In 2024, Carmelsoft completed the research project by the Society of Fire Protection Engineers Foundation (SFPE) to study the integration of fire protection systems with BIM. Click here to download the March 2024 final report.
In the Fall of 2023, Carmelsoft was awarded a software development contract by the International Building Performance Simulation Association - USA (IBPSA-USA) to develop a web-based software tool for ASHRAE Standard 140 compliance and validation.
In 2022, Carmelsoft was awarded 2 new software development contracts from SMACNA, the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors' National Association. One is a web-based HVAC ductulator application and the other is a graphical-based HVAC exhaust design software tool.
In 2022, ASHRAE awarded Carmelsoft a research contract titled, "ASHRAE 1815-TRP, Integrating Occupant Behavior Data into Building Information Modeling for Performance Simulation", to update gbXML and IFC schemas to better model occupant behavior.
Carmelsoft won a 2020 U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) grant to develop Schema Server, a web-based tool to help different DOE and private-company software tools all share building energy auditing information.
Carmelsoft developed BIMDrop, an online parts-catalog and advertising engine specifically geared toward the trades.
Carmelsoft was hired by ASHRAE to develop the ASHRAE Building EQ Web Portal. This portal provides a quick energy analysis that benchmarks a building's energy performance.
Carmelsoft developed a web-based HVAC load calculation tool specifically for grow room facilities including cannabis grow rooms.
Carmelsoft was hired by JCI to develop a web-based javascript HVAC psychrometric calculator to aid in the selection of their residential line of HVAC equipment.
Mitsubishi Electric hired Carmel to develop a comprehensive VRF equipment selection software tool for their entire line of HVAC equipment.
Carmelsoft was hired by SG America to develop a web-based equipment selection software tool for their line of air-to-air heat exchangers for energy recovery ventilation equipment.
Honeywell's Phoenix Controls division hired Carmel to co-develop a comprehensive HVAC system energy analysis software tool to be used by their salespeople and customers.
ASHRAE hired Carmel to design custom mobile apps for a number of their standards. The ASHRAE 62.1 app allows engineers to perform ventilation calcs for commercial buildings based upon the ASHRAE 62.1-2019 Standard.
